Project Overview
The Bear Creek Special Utility District’s Pump Station #2 Improvements project modernizes essential water infrastructure to boost system reliability, operational efficiency, and long-term service capacity. The initiative targets enhancements to pumping, electrical, instrumentation, and site systems to support ongoing growth and improved operational management.
The scope of work includes constructing new structures and equipment, replacing and integrating mechanical and electrical systems, and implementing comprehensive instrumentation and control upgrades. The project also involves yard piping, utility connections, and site improvements to ensure smooth integration with existing facilities while minimizing service interruptions. Together, these improvements increase pumping reliability, enhance operational monitoring and control, and reinforce the resilience of Bear Creek SUD’s water delivery system.
- Upgrades at Pump Station #2, including the installation of new pumping, mechanical, and process equipment
- Enhancements to the electrical system, such as new service equipment, generators, transfer switches, panelboards, motor controllers, lighting, and lightning protection
- Instrumentation and control improvements, including PLC hardware, control panels, field instruments, network and communication devices, and system programming
- Installation of new yard piping, valves, fittings, and connections to existing water infrastructure
- Construction and placement of precast concrete structures and buildings to support the upgraded pump station operations
- HVAC upgrades for electrical and control rooms
- Site civil work, including earthwork, trenching, backfill, fencing, gates, pavement restoration, and erosion control
- Coordination of system shutdowns, tie-ins, testing, startup, and commissioning to ensure continuous service
